nach releases auf monkeytown, bpitch control, project mooncircle oder seinem eigenen imprint trees & cyborgs debütiert der prämierte produzent robot koch aus l.a. mit einer ersten ep auf diynamic, auf der er mit dem berliner kollegen chi thanh und der vokalistin delhia de france kollaboriert. der track -reach- ist seit monaten fester bestandteil der solomun-sets und hat die herzen von tausenden tänzern im sturm erobert.

with the release of their last album “smoke” (2013) dapayk & padberg moved to a listening oriented direction, that also works perfectly off the dance floor. the new single “sink this ship” underlines their decision to follow this path in the future … maybe even with their upcoming album “harbour” later this year. on “sink this ship” eva padberg unfolds her matured voice, which shows more confidence than on previous records. dapayk skillfully puts her voice in a common scenery, where the straight beats are long over and where is space for extravagances and inventiveness. however, this is not a radical change turning away from the club sound. two of the most sought-after remixer artists at the moment, robot koch and bebetta, ensure the suitability for the dance floor. robot koch skillfully disassembles (for which he is known) the original. primarily he builds his version on the emotional base of eva’s vocal part and dapayk’s warm bass line. however, on the flip side, there is almost a contrasting change. the slight melancholy of the original track gives way for a typical bebetta techhouse beat, that flows through the club in a dreamy, yet simply irresistible manner.

während roberts musikalische handschrift stets erkennbar bleibt, ist *hypermoment* eine stilistische weiterentwicklung seines sounds. mit seinen warmen, analogen klängen, seinen fields-recordings, den satten klangwelten und üppigen pianos, erlaubt dieses album noch mehr einsicht in sein innerstes, während es gleichzeitig die erste veröffentlichung ist, auf der roberts auch selbst singt (care, serenade, fernwood). die field-recordings nahm robert auf trips nach new york, berlin oder joshua tree in kalifornien auf, ebenso wie in seiner neuen heimat in silver lake, l.a., wo er unablässich an seinem album feilte. *hypermoment* featured einige alte bekannte, wie den in l.a. ansässigen künstler schwarzmodul, der auch auf *tsuki* zu hören ist, ebenso wie delhia de france, die auf roberts kürzlich erschienener *california dreaming* kollaboration zu hören ist. aber es sind auch einige künstler vertreten, wie z.b. uks fassine, mree aus new york oder stephen henderson aus kalifornien. *hypermoment* ist roberts bisher persönlichstes album.

robot kochs debüt auf monkeytown trägt die intensiven und emotionalen sounds von einem der talentiertesten deutschen produzenten in die affenstadt. er und einige seiner freunde vereinen ihre kräfte für eine ep, die kochs bisher ungehörte dancefloortauglichkeit hervorhebt. höchstwahrscheinlich beeinflusst durch seinen umzug nach los angeles, klingt jeder sound auf der platte wie unter kalifornischer sonne gereift. kein wunder, dass robot koch den deutschen musikautorenpreis 2014 als bester komponist elektro erhielt. auf der ep gefeatured sind curtain blue, born in flamez, may, schwarzmodul und blue, die zusammen mit robot koch eine platte gemacht haben, die gleichzeitig sexy, berührend und unglaublich sauber ist. jetzt schon ein anwärter für den favoriten 2015!
